Big Day of Appointments

Today, I had a growth ultrasound, my 32 week doctor's appointment, AND my first NST (non-stress test). Big day for Mollie and me! The ultrasound was great! Mollie was pretty cooperative, and their measurements show that she is RIGHT on schedule. Their estimate of her weight is 4 lbs 5 oz +/- 6 oz, so that's really great. With almost 7 more weeks to go, she will likely weigh between 7 & 8 lbs, but you never really know! Their estimates are just that - estimates!

My doctor's appointment went well. My doctor is out of town, so I saw the Nurse Practitioner for the first time, and she was really sweet. My doctor will be back next week, so that's kind of comforting to know, although no one is concerned about anything. My blood pressure is still good and everything looks great with Mollie.

My NST was not the breezy test that I'd been praying for, but I have to say, I still have lots of hope for the future ones. The main problem seems to be that they couldn't find the perfect spot for the monitor, so when Mollie would move (yay!), it would stop picking up her heart rate all together (boo!). The nurse was really sweet, and told us that she was not at all worried about the baby - she could tell everything is great with her - but for this test, she has to "prove it" on paper, and that's what we were having difficulty doing. It took a good hour, but once we got the monitor in the right spot, it didn't take any time at all. I really hope that the next one goes better, especially because Brad was able to come with me this time, but that won't be the case most of the time. I was really thankful to have him with me for the very first one though. My blood pressure was AWESOME during the test, so that was good. It was a nightmare with all of Natalie's, praying for her to move and trying not to stress so my blood pressure would stay down (which it never did). This one, while not perfect, was a very different experience.

Here are some ultrasound pictures of Mollie from today. We were excited to find out that we could get some 3D pics during the regular ultrasound - fun! So that kind of makes up for the stinky experience we had at the other 3D ultrasound!

2D - Her sweet face. :)

2D - Her profile.
3D - Semi-profile (her foot is in front of her face on the left side of the picture)
3D - Another profile - this time her foot is in a little different position
3D - Another foot-in-face profile - she is looking a little smooshed here
3D - Just her little foot. The tech was really excited to get this picture - she said it's hard to get a foot in this cute position - and you can count her toes!

  1. I'm glad to hear everything went well. I had to the NST's every 3 days for 8 weeks. They really are not difficult, but it gets really old quick! We will continue to pray for you and the family!

  2. That foot picture is too cute! Glad everything is going good! I would say July will be here before you know it, but that last month REALLY drags! :)
